About Us

The Gallery is an artist run gallery located at the north end of San Leandro, in the Farrelly Pond District. The Gallery came out of the thought of fixing up the part of the studio not bering used for painting. As a result we have had photography, sculpture and painting and printmaking shows.  We  hosted the artwork of students from the social justice academy of San Leandro High School for two years.

The gallery, started originally as Anna W. Edwards Fine Art, my painting studio. The gallery was built at the beginning of 2008 and presented emerging photographers Clennis Justice and Mark Snaer; Paper Sculpture and poet, Bill Denham; and the hugely successful National Art of Democracy show.

Edwards showed paintings from the Images in Art series.

Printmakers  Melanie Cervantes, Emory Douglas and Jesus Barraza  taught and mentored  students from The Social Justice Academy at San Leandro High School with the making of War Resistance Posters.

Glass artist and ceramicist, Chris Roscoe's Haniwa and Earth Shards; Photographer Richard McCall’s A Moment in Time and Marcus Lorenzo Penn’s  Caras de Cuba proved to be a big hit. The year 2009 closed with artists from Painted Tongue Press, Artful Steps and Anna W. Edwards donating artwork to be raffled off to benefit the Artful Steps program of Stepping Stones Growth center in San Leandro. A program that supports and trains developmentally disabled artists in Alameda and surrounding counties.
